That's All Folks!

These kitchen experiments have been quite a learning experience. There have been multiple successes and a few catastrophes. Regardless, I have learned some useful skills and tips from these nine recipes. I acquired some skills to help me cook breakfast, dinner, and dessert, so I can’t complain! Cooking has been a lot of fun and I’m glad I had the opportunity to test my skills in the kitchen and eat all of my creations!  I hope you try some of these recipes for yourself, and hopefully, I will continue attempting new recipes and improving my skills as well. Thanks for following!

Cinnamon Rolls

I used this recipe:

This recipe was easy and yummy! It's a fun and sugary way to wake up. This is more of a Sunday morning type of recipe though, because it takes over an hour to prepare and cook. Clean-up also takes a while, because lots of pans and bowls are needed to make this. The time this recipe requires is more than worth it! You end up with soft, gooey cinnamon rolls and you start your day off right. If you choose to add frosting they’re even better! I’d make this recipe every morning if I could. Try it!

I would recommend making some frosting to add to your cinnamon rolls. Try the frosting recipe:

Crepes

I used this recipe:
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/crepes-2/

Crepes seem like they are incredibly easy to make, but that's not true. Yes, the batter is made of eggs, milk, flour, and oil so it's extremely simple to mix, but cooking these things is an art! The batter is so thin that you have to quickly pour it in the pan and disperse it to the edges almost immediately. There is no time to think and there is certainly no time for mistakes! When it comes time to flip the crepe, it's dangerous! It's so thin it could tear or fold in half. It takes practice to make crepes, but they are delicious when they're done! I’d recommend this recipe, and I would also recommend Nutella as a topping!

Baked Breakfast Scrambled Egg Casserole

I used this website:
http://www.momswhothink.com/easy-recipes/breakfast-egg-casseroles.html

I think I may hate eggs and breakfast in general for the rest of my life after attempting this recipe. Somehow I failed to cook the middle of the casserole correctly and it was about the consistency of vomit. The edges cooked perfectly, but no matter what I did the middle would not cook. This proved to be a frustrating waste of time and ingredients, not to mention inedible. Raw eggs are never supposed to be eaten, so I had to throw out my failed casserole! If I had to attempt this recipe again, I might try turning the oven temperature up in hopes of more even cooking. Regardless, it was a kitchen catastrophe!

Don't worry; I'm not going to pain your eyes with a picture of this gross mess!

Chicken Pot Pie

I used this recipe:
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chicken-pot-pie-ix/

Chicken pot pie has always been a favorite of mine, and I finally felt confident enough in the kitchen to give it a try. Admittedly, this recipe did not go as smoothly as I would have liked, but it was tasty regardless. The process of chopping and cooking the ingredients is the most time consuming and dangerous. Remember, you’re supposed to get the hot liquid in the pie crust, not on your hands. It proves to be painful. I cheated and used a store-bought pie crust, so this was not completely from scratch, but I made up for it by using fresh veggies. I would recommend this recipe for any level of chef because it’s not that difficult, and it’s extremely good!
